Fly Fishing - Upper Elk Valley

The Elk and the Fording River System provide over 150 km of unsurpassed fly fishing north of Elkford.  Westslope Cutthroat, Bull, and Rainbows are abundant. Cutthroat can reach 20 inches and Bulls up to 15 lbs.  are common.  This is ideal walk and wade dry fly fishing and it is not uncommon to fish all day without seeing another angler.  The pristine forests and spectacular mountain scenery only add to the exhilaration of the great fishing.  Wildlife is abundant and early morning or evening excursions almost always result in sighting of elk, moose, deer, bear, lynx, wolves, and occasionally bighorn sheep and mountain goats.
